Veterans Assistance

The Luke Chapter Veterans Relief Grant program for 2025-26 had two components.

(1) We benefit active-duty airmen and their families at Luke AFB experiencing food insecurity during the Thanksgiving Holiday season in the Annual Turkeys for Troops charity. Approximately 150 airmen were designated by the First Sergeant's Council on the base to pass through the Base Chapel on 20 November 2025 to receive bags of canned and packaged food, a large turkey and various pastries for the holiday. Individual Luke Chapter members donated about 1000 cans and packages. We also purchased additional food and 111 commissary gift cards of $30 each using MOAA grant funds and funds provided by a local golf club.

(2) In addition, we made nine grant awards to date to individual veterans and their families with emergency financial household living needs for rent, utilities, gasoline, car repairs, etc. These grants totaled $19,909.91. All funds are expended directly, with no overhead, salaries or G&A expenses. We awarded a total of $25,709 for both (1) and (2) to date.
